A Reflection on 2021 & What’s Ahead

Happy holidays!
It’s been another fun year for Brown & Crouppen’s community outreach, we have continued to grow and learn to find new ways to offer our support during this ongoing pandemic. After finding creative ways to pivot our efforts in 2020 like attending virtual events, partnering with the Red Cross for blood donations (our employees are still regularly donating blood!), providing much needed supplies and donations to local organizations and shopping their wish lists, this year we found ourselves combining our virtual events with a few in person endeavors in recent months. We carefully joined a few local organizations for in person walks while continuing to offer a virtual option, were very excited to get back on site with KMOV’s Home 4 the Holidays and Habitat for Humanity to help build a house for a very excited new homeowner, and hosted a really fun meet and greet with Ed Herman of Ed Versus (where attendees even received a free LeGrand’s sandwich!). To kick off our holiday season, we joined forces with Gateway 180 and Nourish KC to provide Thanksgiving meals to our neighbors, and have provided countless Christmas wishes to local children and families through organizations and adopting client families.
As we look ahead into 2022, our incredible marketing team wants to get back to our roots. We are looking forward to making new, meaningful connections where it’s needed most, and to deepen our partnerships with our core organizations to not only participate in their events, but to provide legal support, education, and more hands-on volunteering efforts. We’re very excited about what the new year will bring!
While we love being out there with everyone raising awareness and having fun, as this year ends, we took the time to reflect on what community outreach means to our B&C family. Being with the Firm over 30 years and watching our efforts evolve into what it’s become has been the most rewarding and gratifying part of my career. I wanted to ask co-workers what community outreach means to them, and absolutely love the heartfelt responses I received. Thank you to the Partners for making this a place we call home, where we can not only provide a truly amazing client experience, but also focus on what matters most at the heart of it all.
“I love working at a place where I can say with confidence that at any given time, we are sponsoring an event, donating money or gifts, or promoting a cause. Over the last 18 years I’ve been with the firm, the evolution of our community outreach has been staggering. Each year, the firm vows to give more, do more, volunteer more…we never stop giving back to our community, and we never stop improving on that vow, even during the pandemic. This past year, I’ve had the opportunity to participate virtually in walks and runs, donate to great local causes, and work hard in person with an amazing group of co-workers. Each activity is meaningful and rewarding and makes me proud to work at Brown & Crouppen.”
“I have loved doing the charity walks virtually. I was always limited to what I could do because of not having rides for those events. I love that we support so many groups for so many causes and quite a few of them hit home for me and my family. When I wear my shirt out, people ask me if I really work there. I’m proud to say yes! Working together to make even more of a positive support for them all.”
“Community outreach is one of the main reasons I wanted to work for Brown & Crouppen. The partners and the firm are working to make the community a better place. This firm truly cares about each client, whether their case is “worth” a thousand dollars or a million dollars. The partners are happy to step up and support so many causes that are important to the clients and will put their money where their mouth is in a second. Whether it is participating in a walk to raise awareness, donating a basket full of goodies for a silent auction, or providing a Christmas miracle to a family whose life has been turned upside down, B&C is there. Our partners can give a newbie to the area legitimate recommendations on the best places to eat, tips on places to stay, or resources to get all kinds of help. Long before I was a part of this team, B&C screamed St. Louis to me. Brown and Crouppen is part of the St. Louis culture, and this city is a better place because of the love this firm infuses into the community. I always dreamed of being a part of that, and now I get that privilege.”
“Terry and “that cereal guy” are my dad’s very favorite local celebrities and my dad was like a little kid the night he got to meet Terry at the baseball game. B&C night at the ballpark 2019 is one of the best memories I have with my dad in my whole life. He was so proud to say his daughter works for B&C and would tell anyone who would listen. He still brags to his old man friends about that night and how Terry treated him to the “luxury” Cardinals experience.” “It is because of our community and neighbors and friends in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas that we are all blessed to work for such an amazing company. They support us by using our local firm to help them fight against insurance companies. I am honored and blessed to be able tp support them right back through charity work, walks to raise awareness, or just a phone call to assure them that they are heard and seen.”
