Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure
Susan Komen Race for the Cure 3-Day for the Cure is a three-day, 60-mile walk that helps raise millions of dollars for breast cancer research, education and community health programs. 3 Day for the CureAfter four employees at Brown & Crouppen registered for a walk in Michigan, the staff at Brown & Crouppen helped in the efforts to raise the $9,200 for registration. Employees bought raffle tickets, pizzas, t-shirts and participated in a casual day to help their co-workers meet their goal and help get closer to ending breast cancer forever.
United Cerebral Palsy Mardi Gras Dinner Auction
United Cerebral PalsyBrown & Crouppen has faithfully attended the annual Mardi Gras Dinner Auction with UCP and looks forward to the upcoming event in March. Last year the event raised over $420,000 to help aid UCP’s programs which include adult developmental training, residential services, supported employment, respite care, speech and physical therapies, early childhood education and more.
United Cerebral Palsy 3rd Annual Trivia Night
Brown & Crouppen has sponsored and participated in the Annual UCP Trivia Night since the first year and it’s an event that employees look forward to every year. Last year the event raised over $9,000 for their organization and Brown & Crouppen is proud to partner with UCP to help aid programs and improve lives.
United Cerebral Palsy Walk With Me and Casual Day
Brown & Crouppen employees participated in the 8th annual UCP Walk With Me and followed up by participating in the organization’s Casual Day event where employees, in exchange for dressing casually on a business day, made a contribution to UCP of Greater St. Louis. Brown & Crouppen had a near one-hundred percent turnout for Casual Day.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
JDRFJDRF is the leader in research leading to a cure for type 1 diabetes in the world and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide. Employees at Brown & Crouppen have been working hard to raise money every year for the Annual Walk for Diabetes by selling JDRF shoes and bracelets, holding money-raising competitions in their departments and collecting donations from family and friends.
Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments
Delta Gamma Center The Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments is committed to helping children who are blind or visually impaired reach their full potential through individualized education and therapy services for infants (birth to three years) and their parents and through support services for children of all ages, their families and the community. Brown & Crouppen has sponsored and participated in Delta Gamma Center’s Annual Run for Sight since 2008 and plans to continue this tradition in the years to come.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for HumanityHabitat for Humanity St. Louis was founded for the purposes of aiding and assisting low-income families in need of adequate housing. Through volunteer labor, management expertise and tax deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds homes in partnership with homeowners. These houses are sold at zero profit to the partner families and zero-interest mortgages are issued to help low-income families become homeowners.
For the past several years, Brown & Crouppen employees have volunteered their labor to help build a house and complete landscaping for Habitat for Humanity. The employees also raised money to give a monetary donation to help with other expenses.
Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America
The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Brown & Crouppen has sent employees out and has been a sponsor for the walk and trivia night to help raise money for the organization. There is always a large turnout of employees and family members at the events and they plan to continue their support in the upcoming years.
Food Outreach
Food Outreach is the only St. Louis area organization whose mission is to provide nutritional support and enhance the quality of life of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS or Cancer. Recently Brown & Crouppen employees went on-site at Food Outreach and spent a rewarding day helping the staff cook, pack and distribute meals.
St. Louis Area Foodbank
Brown & Crouppen employees are always ready to lend a helping hand when their neighbors are in need and recently took up a collection for the storm victims and donated 118lbs of food.
Kids Chance of Missouri
Kids Chance of MissouriEach year Kid’s Chance of Missouri hosts a variety of events to help raise scholarship money for children of a parent who has sustained a serious injury or a fatality in a Missouri work-related incident. For numerous years Brown & Crouppen has helped sponsor and has participated in events such as the organization’s annual St. Louis golf tournament and the Kids Chance Bowling Tournament.
Solomon Temple MB Church
We believe in the strength of our communities, and our commitment to help support our fellow citizens. This is why Brown & Crouppen is thankful for the opportunity to work with the Solomon Temple MB Church and provide Christmas turkeys for those in need. Last year over 200 turkeys were donated to families in the community. We were very pleased to participate in such a joyful occasion, and look forward to this year.
Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald HouseRMH of St. Louis serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families with seriously-ill children being treated at area hospitals, and provides support to organizations that serve the needs of children. The houses offer parents and family members complimentary snacks, laundry detergent and toiletries, and other comforts of home in the Family Rooms. Brown & Crouppen employees hosted a snack drive and Wish List fundraiser to help stock the RMH houses with the items they need to continue providing the families with these comforts.
Bosnian Summer Days Festival
“Magic and Tricks for Kids” was organized by a non-profit organization ARIA in conjunction with Ljetni Dani Summer Days 2006. Brown & Crouppen and staff went out to the Summer Days Festival to help them reach their goal of collecting funds for opening a Bosnian library and recreation center both children and adults. We were excited to be a part of this festival and are looking forward to partnering up ARIA again to continue raising funds for this much needed cause.
Annie Malone’s May Day Parade
At Brown & Crouppen, we are family and that is why for the second year in a row, Brown & Crouppen participated in the May Day Parade. This parade is organized to raise money for The Annie Malone Children & Family Service Center. Annie Malone is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children families and the community. Each year this organization serves over 1,000 children and families in the St. Louis community. All money raised from the parade assists in providing residential treatment, family focus and parent enhancement workshops, transitional living programs, and assists in helping reunify broken families.
Angel Tree
Angel TreeFor the past 11 years Brown & Crouppen associates have participated in the Angel Tree Program. During the holiday season, each associate who participates ” adopts” a child who is in foster care or who has an incarcerated parent. The children are provided with a gift and stocking at a holiday celebration.
The Famed Dillard University Choir of New Orleans In Concert at Missouri History Museum
The Dillard University Concert Choir embarked on a national tour of nine cities including St. Louis. The Choir performed during a St. Louis City NAACP Black History Month event that was held on March 3rd at the History Museum.
“To commemorate Black History Month, the event was held at the Missouri History Museum to provide an unique opportunity for the community to enjoy the performance of the Dillard University Concert Choir as well as tour two of the most moving and compelling exhibitions: Baseball As America and Captive Passage: The Transatlantic Slave Trade and the Making of the Americans,” said Harold Crumpton, President of the St. Louis City NAACP.
“The evening began with refreshments and tours of the exhibitions followed by the Dillard University Choir in concert,” Crumpton said. “Serving as event co sponsors with the St. Louis City NAACP was Brown & Crouppen, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and the Missouri History Museum.”
Brown & Crouppen provided the choirs’ traveling expenses for the St. Louis event and during intermission Terry Crouppen provided some inspirational words to the youth in the audience.
Established in 1869, Dillard University is historically black, liberal arts, undergraduate university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dillard is a member institution of the united Negro College Fund. Hundreds of UNCF graduates work and reside in the St. Louis area.
The NAACP, the oldest and largest civil rights organization in America, was founded in 1904. The St. Louis City NAACP was organized in 1914 to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of minority groups; to eliminate racial prejudice; and to take lawful action to secure its elimination, consistent with the efforts of the national organization.
