BCTV Wins Big at 2020 Mid-America Emmy Awards

The 44th Annual Mid-America Emmy Awards were held virtually Saturday, November 21st. We were honored to be among the nominees celebrating the talent within our region this year. The Mid-America Emmys set the standard for excellence, representing the most experienced and talented television and marketing professionals in the industry. Our firm is proud to announce BCTV was nominated 12 times in 8 different categories. We ultimately brought home 3 Emmy’s this year, making it a 5X-Winning YouTube Channel.

BCTV is a web-based network focusing on relatable and often local content. Our ongoing vision for BCTV is to give people a place to feel connected and a place to laugh, especially true during this difficult and unprecedented year. The success of our videos can be attributed to our genuine desire to interact with our community through humor and authentic shared experience.

Brown & Crouppen Managing Partner and BCTV Co-Creator Ed Herman was asked what advice he would give to those looking to similarly enhance their marketing efforts. Ed says:

Talk about what you know so that your videos will be genuine. People respond well to enthusiasm and expertise. I think what people like about my Ed Versus videos is seeing me passionately discussing relatable topics. Let that guide you: What am I passionate about? What do I have enthusiasm for? Where am I the most knowledgeable? Then think about what the people want. It’s like any other type of relationship where you find the most success when you locate your common ground. Above all, try to speak from the heart.

His answer encompasses our approach for the channel and firm’s overarching marketing efforts. Connecting with our fans begins by speaking from the heart and showcasing who we really are as people. Yes, we are lawyers — but we wouldn’t mind being remembered as the cereal-mixing, sandwich-loving, keeping-kids-safe lawyers that focus on contributing to and highlighting our community.
