Drawing on her Indian heritage, she has had to break down many doors for herself. In her role as recruiter, she is dedicated to helping other people get through the door, too. She understands to include diverse talent within the firm, that you must meet people where they are. Khevna prioritizes going out into different communities with the message “we want your talent and you are welcome at our firm”.
In the last year, she has attended and participated in numerous events such as Webster University’s Diversity and Inclusion Conference, SHRM Leadership conference, various university career fairs, and recruitment training opportunities. She recruits for paralegals, attorneys, and all law professionals with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Her experience has helped inform the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Calendar Committee which is an internal Brown & Crouppen employee volunteer group. The committee works to promote educational resources, speakers, and activities to provide employees opportunities to listen, learn, and engage. She has contributed to Pride month observance, Hindu holidays, Native American Heritage appreciation day, Autism awareness, and many other dates of observance throughout the year.
Her guidance in the Calendar committee translated to a Steering Committee seat. On the Diversity and Inclusion Steering committee, she works with a board of executives within the firm where the overall initiatives of Diversity of Inclusion are developed and implemented. Khevna works to include diversity initiatives in recruiting, hiring, and in developing well-rounded approaches to all external and internal firm practices.
Brown & Crouppen couldn’t be prouder of her work in advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives. We are also proud to have Khevna serve on the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Chapter of the National Human Resources Association.
