Tom Davis and his team settled a severe car wreck case on behalf of a family of four for $650,000. They were driving down the highway when another vehicle ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of them, causing the crash. Two of the family members suffered fractures (one with a fractured sternum and one with a fractured hand), and the other two suffered concussions.
Tom and his team researched and investigated all causes of the crash and determined that not only was the at-fault driver responsible, but there was a grown tree in front of the stop sign that blocked its visibility. They also investigated the various insurance coverages, first settling with the at-fault driver’s coverage. Then they determined that the clients had underinsured motorist coverage, and obtained a settlement with that insurance company. Then, they pursued and obtained a settlement with the county and state entities involved in maintaining the area where the stop sign and overgrown tree were located, securing a $650,000 global settlement from all the involved insurance companies and governmental entities.
