The parents of a 4-year-old boy died in a furniture accident have settled a wrongful death claim against the manufacturer for $3 million. The parents sued the manufacturer for wrongful death for strict liability, strict liability failure to warn and negligence. The parents were represented by Brown & Crouppen’s wrongful death attorneys James P. Lemonds and Andrea D. McNairy. The manufacturer denied the allegations and asserted that the plaintiffs’ fault caused or contributed to the death. The case was mediated.. Without admitting liability, the manufacturer agreed to settle the parents’ claim for $3 million. The settlement was approved by the court.
