What Evidence Should Be Gathered To Help Support A Motorcycle Accident Claim?
Video Transcript
At Brown & Crouppen we do handle motorcycle crash cases and they’re unique. One of the things that we collect on every single motorcycle crash, if applicable, is the motorcycle rider’s helmet. That’s something you might not think about, and often times they say, “Oh my helmet was scratched in the in the crash” and they threw it away. That’s terrible. I want to see that helmet. If you had a traumatic brain injury, maybe it wasn’t just because of the crash, maybe it was because the helmet was defective. So I want to look at that (helmet) and see if I have a products liability case. Along with the helmet, we really look at everything today. We’re always looking for, of course the police report, which leads us to witnesses, which may lead us to photographs. And these days, we’re always looking for cameras. You’d be amazed all the cameras that capture quite a bit, so we are looking for video. We’re looking for pictures. We of course want the bike, the motorcycle itself. But the helmet might be something that I would encourage people, don’t discard. Don’t throw that helmet away. I want to look at that (helmet). There might be something that the helmet or the helmet manufacturer failed, the helmet was defective, and that contributed to the injury and I want to see that.
