$500,000 Policy-Limits Settlement for Client Catastrophically Injured in Golf-Cart Rollover

Attorney  Rachel Weinhaus and her team secured a $500,000 policy-limits settlement on behalf of a client who suffered catastrophic injuries in a golf-cart rollover in Barnhart, Missouri.

The rollover occurred after a front wheel on the golf cart suddenly detached. The wheel had been improperly installed by the cart’s owners, and the mechanical failure threw the client forward. She suffered bilateral proximal humerus fractures, requiring ORIF surgery on both shoulders. The injuries ultimately ended her career as a hairdresser.

The insurance carrier initially offered $300,000, and the insureds refused to disclose their policy’s liability limits. Rachel thoroughly documented the negligent wheel installation, the severity of the client’s injuries, and her permanent occupational loss, then rejected any settlement below full value. Faced with the strength of the case and the risk of litigation, the adjuster then tendered the full $500,000 policy limits.
